Light and shadows
cover her, as she
walks along the
empty shore, once
filled with tourists
but not any more.
Her hair blowing
now in the cool
evening breeze,
as she watches
the moon dancing
upon blue seas
Pulling her
sweater around
her to keep her
warm, a tear
trickles down
her cheek, and
she brushes it
off quickly, as her
feet the firm sand
seek.
Just last year
he walked along
this beach with
her, holding her
close to him,
telling her he
would never let
her go
So happy they
were, and the
time was full
of love, and the
time had gone
so slow
But then, the
dream had come
to an end, he
could no longer
pretend
Reality knocked
at their door, and
their sweet love
could be no more
So footprints in
the sand, and
memories forever
engraved within
her heart would
have to do, for the
years they would
have to endure
being apart.
